PHONE COMPARTMENT

Rename your "Glove Compartment" to be your "Phone Compartment"

End your temptation to text and drive!!

Commit yourself (and your friends and family) to lock your phone into your "Phone Compartment" before you start the car - and don't take it back out until the car is off.

We have to face it - by nature, humans are curious animals. We want to know what is happening - we want to be stimulated continuously - we want immediate gratification - we don't want to be left out. When the phone buzzes - we want and need to know what is going on asap.

We all know that texting and driving (or otherwise being distracted by smartphones while driving) is extremely dangerous, and we swear that we will not do it. But .......

it starts with finishing up a text while in the driveway before we drive off - and that evolves into "harmless" catching up on texts at stoplights - which unfortunately can evolve into fitting in that small text while you are creeping your car forward slowly or driving at a constant speed when there is no other cars close to you - and then the ambulance comes (and hopefully not the cororner).

You don't text while you sleep, or while sitting at a nice restuarant, or while running a race - and you don't miss it during those times because it is not there staring you in the face. Help yourself resist the temption while driving - Keep your phone out of reach.

Did you know:

Over 90% of our respondents NEVER store gloves in their "glove" compartment.  So there is plenty of room for that phone - and a brand new name to that box that might just save your life (and your friends' lives and some strangers' lives as well.)

So - Put your phone away out of reach (in your phone compartment) - just do it.  It will take no time at all to catch up with the texts when you are safely out of the car.  We are committed in doing this throughout our trip and beyond.

(ps - If you insist that you need the phone for navigation, you can hear the navigation from an open phone compartment.)
